In this video we'll look at using Tree Bark to base your miniatures. Simple and cheap to do! Check it out! BTW, you can buy a bag of this stuff at your local nursery or home improvement store. You'll have better luck at a nursery though. We use an airbrush to do some base coating and use some dry brushing to get some realistic rock effect. I'll show you my first attempt at making decent-looking bases with Air Dry clay. Basing my minis is not my strong-suit. It's not my passion either. But it is an important part of the Warhammer 40K hobby, so I thought it was time to upgrade my basing game. Drawing from advice from EonsofBattle and TheTerrainTutor I used some air dry clay to add some verticality to my bases. If you are interested in the great tutorial on working with air cry clay, check out TheTerrainTutor's video: 🤍 I attempted 2 types of terrain: Hills and Stone. One the features were dry I went through the usual painting steps- priming, base paint, washing and dry brushing. I ended with just the right amount of grass tufts. Most of these turned out pretty nice looking, though some were clearly better than others. The lesson here is that working with air dry clay is a lot less scary than you might think if you haven't tried it.
